Each work of this series has a longer subtitle encapsulating a memory or the artist’s life as it relates to an abiding love of the natural world; a love ingrained in the artist as a child and nurtured as an adult.
The artist put out hummingbird feeders for several years and steadfastly and routinely made fresh nectar, (as sugar water goes bad after a few days, making the birds sick!) ensuring a happy and healthy flock of hummingbirds. Spending time on her balcony, the artist loved her close encounters with these curious flyers.
